The Greenmont Farms Barn is an inspiring, completely restored 19th century post and beam barn

AFFORDABLE LODGING

Greenmont Farms is a small working farm 23 North East of Burlington, Vermont.  Excellent outdoor activities of all kinds surround this beautiful place.  An inspiring unpretending barn on the farm has been renovated to suit unique, affordable, overnight accommodations and a variety of day use possibilities.  Staying here is best suited for those wishing a simple, genuine, comfortable experience.  The heated portion of the barn includes family or group sleeping dorms, a complete kitchen, 2 full baths, and a nicely appointed living/common room.  Swings, climbing ropes, ping pong, and a 30′ climbing wall are located in the huge barn interior.

Greenmont Farms is committed to preserving Vermont’s hearty rural character while remaining true to affordable booking fees.  Greenmont Farms seeks to be an honest place where fun, comfort, quiet, and learning can be experienced.

The Greenmont Barn has been a popular venue for local folk music and contra dancing. For years it was a summer day camp for neighborhood children. The Greenmont Farms facility can be rented for a variety of purposes. Workshops, small conferences, meetings, and ski dorm/base camp outdoor activities can take advantage of our dormitory sleeping lofts and a “do it yourself” fully equipped kitchen. People with disabilities will find this facility accessible.

Greenmont Farms is just a short walk to the village of Underhill Center. This village has two country stores (one that sells gasoline). Local produce and other necessary provisions can be purchased here. The village is completed with a Post Office, the Elementary School, and the Underhill Town Hall. The nearest large food market is 10 miles away in Essex Junction, Vermont.  The scenery here is mixed. Small scale agricultural farmland, a produce farm specializing in strawberries, arable grazing pasture, woods, and fields fill the valley. The Browns River flows through this place on its way to the Lamoille River which eventually pours into Lake Champlain.
